CE Course Description
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the applications and ethical considerations of artificial intelligence (AI) in therapy. Designed for licensed psychologists, it covers evidence-based applications, integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) aspects and individual and cultural diversity areas, and addresses American Psychological Association (APA) ethical guidelines. This course will engage participants to learn about the current state of AI in psychological practice, evaluate empirical support for various AI applications, and reflect on ethical and cultural considerations. In this course, the words “client” and “patient” will be used interchangeably. In addition, for purposes of this course, the terms “psychologist,” “therapist,” and “clinician” will be used interchangeably. Ethical issues, cultural and diversity considerations, case studies, reflection questions, and answers will be woven throughout the course.
